On Sunday 4th September we ran our 1st Veterans tournament finals for a number of years. After several well competed matches we reached finals matches on the Sunday. Bad weather was forecast but luckily the blue sky hovered over Hoylake LTC. Singles players arrived early… not sure whether it was down to enthusiasm or to stretch and warm up tender muscles. Great matches went on throughout the afternoon, with a delicious bbq and refreshments for the spectators. The afternoon was well supported. My thanks go to Di & Bob running the bbq and all those who competed in the events.
I set the age as 45 and above this year to get the tournament going again, however this will increase a little next year…don’t think this affects many anyway.
