Liverpool City Region, including Wirral, is facing the toughest restrictions imposed under the Government’s new coronavirus tier system. It means that residents can’t mix with other households indoors and should avoid travelling out of the local area. Outdoors, you must not socialise in a group of more than 6 in a public space.
What do Tier 3 restrictions mean for tennis?
LTA have issued a summary of what is permissible for outdoor tennis venues:

- The Club and coaches can continue to organise sessions for groups of more than 6; anyone organising a group will ensure that sessions are run in accordance with Covid-19 Secure guidelines and that they follow LTA guidance and HLTC risk assessments.
- Members can play socially in pre-arranged fours and must book a court in advance using Clubspark.
- All members, whether playing as part of a large or small organised group, are requested to arrive and leave promptly and to avoid socialising before and after their games, or with players on other courts.
- Please stick to social distancing guidelines at all times.
- The clubhouse may only be used to access toilets; as these cloakrooms are small, please use on the basis of one person in, one out. Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance to both the men’s and women’s cloakrooms.
- The clubhouse is NOT available for shelter in inclement weather.
- Before leaving home to play tennis, all participants should undergo a self-assessment symptom check for any COVID-19 symptoms using the information on the NHS website
- Anyone who shows any signs or symptoms of coronavirus should clearly not visit the Club.
We want to keep the Club open for members to enjoy their tennis: please help by keeping to the rules. Tier 3 restrictions are for areas like ours with a very high level of infections and we all need to play our part in not spreading the virus. Thank you!
