Slightly belated post. But a couple of weekends ago we ran a ladies American doubles tournament for those in the coaching programme. It was a really fun event in which there were some fun and competitive matches. There was a nice mix of junior girls gaining some valuable doubles experience as well as lady players dealing with topspin from our younger players. It was incredibly close, with many players falling on the same number total scored, however Kate Benc and Liz Mason-Home were joint winners.
I have been trying to rotate with junior and adult events Saturday afternoons in place of my individual lessons to try and give more opportunity of competitive matchplay experience. Anyone wishing to be involved in future events please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
